About the Founder
Elena Harper founded Artus Operandi on a simple but underutilized idea: art is not a privilege. It doesn't require credentials or a trained eye to be felt. A space with the right work in it, chosen with intention and placed with care, carries a different quality. Most people sense it before they can name it.
She studied art history and visual culture at UC Santa Cruz, trained in exhibition design at the San Jose Museum of Art, and built a career inside Silicon Valley's tech industry. This path gave her fluency in both worlds: how organizations think about space, and how art functions within it. She understands what a room needs before a single work is sourced. Years of relationships with galleries, artist studios, and private collectors across the Bay Area and beyond make it possible to find exactly that.
